Kreg Jigs are one of the staples in DIY Woodworking, but like any tool, it can be made to suit your needs even more than the manufacturer intended. Take for instance, my Kreg Jig Cabinet with Storage that I made for this unit. Works great and is easy to make. Check out my plans “Kreg Jig Cabinet” for more.

In this article and video I show you how to highlight the difficult to see measurements that are engraved on the side and base of the unit.

First, start by wiping down the area with alcohol to ensure it is clean. Your polish will stick quite well with a clean and dust free surface.

Next, begin by painting the engravings with white fingernail polish. Do not use lacquer for this application. As a matter of fact, using quick drying polish will help even more.

Now just take some non-acetone fingernail polish remover and wipe the surface lightly to remove the excess that is on the surface. If a second coat is needed then follow the same procedure. Once that is done, take 220 grit sandpaper and sand the surface lightly to remove any haze left on the surface.

Now you can see the difference it makes.
